It’s known by many name, but this is the BASE Sur of any Raag. In English, it’s even called the Tonic Note. This is the Sur that establishes the baseline of all the other Sur within a Raag. Each Sur is recognized only based on it’s distance from the Kharaj.
This website is created to help the masses learn a bit about Hindustani Classical Music and bring Qawwali awareness back to the masses. Raga music has somehow made it into our daily lives, and Qawwali has used music as a vehicle to travel around the globe. Let’s not squander it by ignoring its teachings.
